I handcraft one-of-a-kind pendants, earrings, bracelets and rings from old wire, hardware and metal scraps reclaimed from in and around the Portland/Metro area. My favorite material is weathered barn siding reclaimed from an old dairy in Gaston. To attach my pieces I often use rusted screws that I might find along roadsides and railroad tracks or by rummaging through salvage hot spots such as the Rebuilding Center on Mississippi. My latest find is a batch of wool roving from which I have felted woolen balls I use to create earrings and necklaces, adding metal as well as beads for texture and decoration.
